PAPA ROACH To Create 'Intimate Vibe' On Upcoming Tour
January 11, 2005Launch Radio Networks is reporting that PAPA ROACH will begin a headlining North American tour in mid-February and the band plans on hitting clubs and smaller theatres this time around. Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix explained that the group wants to keep a tight focus on their show and their fans. "We're trying to really make it all about P. ROACH this time," he told Launch. "Instead of going and supporting for a bunch of bands, just do the smaller rooms and rock 'em and have that intimate vibe and create that intensity in those places. I think it'll be positive for this band."
Supporting PAPA ROACH on the upcoming tour will be Welsh reggae-rockers SKINDRED and Minnesota punk act the F-UPS. PAPA ROACH are continuing to support their third major label album, "Getting Away With Murder", which arrived in stores this past fall.
Meanwhile, PAPA ROACH head to South Korea at the end of this month to play several shows for U.S. troops stationed in that country. The shows are free for active duty military, military retirees, high school dependents and Korean locals with military ID. PAPA ROACH will hold autograph sessions at every gig as well. The first show is on Jan. 25 at Camp Walker, with four more scheduled through Jan. 30.
